Scotland - North East Coast

Not far from Mey we came to the village of John O'Groats. It has become famous for the End to End challenge where bikers travel from one end of Britain to Lands End in the south of Cornwall. This is the starting point. A popular place to stay is the colourfully restored Inn of John O'Groats seen behind us with tremendous views of the water. The original but derelict 1875 John O'Groats Hotel had been abandoned for three decades and it took 2 years to get it ready for visitors again in 2013.
